Bboxx Kenya, a next-generation utility company, will unveil more products targeting different markets in the new expansion plan.
Managing Director Bboxx Kenya Jeff Vanden Berghe said the company intends to bridge the global energy gap and achieve Social Development Goal 7 (SDG7) of clean solar energy for all Kenyans.
“The company has been extending its services to serving nearly 500,000 Kenyans. Two months ago, Bboxx company inked a KES 1.6 billion (c. USD 15 million) loan provided by SBM Bank Kenya to provide access to clean, reliable, and affordable energy,” Berghe said.
Berghe was speaking on Friday during the company’s awards. The event was held at their main offices in Ruiru Kiambu County.
“We are working alongside governments and world-class international partners to help to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals in the next decade, with energy access catalyzing enabling economic development of communities and making progress on a range of the global goals,” he said.
The managing director said the company products are specified to extremely high standards and are designed to last years. He added that the company has a strong customer care team to meet emerging needs.
“We are providing affordable, reliable, and clean electricity and other utility services to millions of Kenyans who are living without, transforming lives and unlocking the potential of communities, cities,” he said.
He said that Bboxx’s Pay-As-You-Go Solar Home Systems mean access to more affordable solar energy as customers pay for ownership with flexible payment plans.
“We are committed to serving Kenyans and delivering an unparalleled improvement in the quality of life for rural and urban households,” he said.
Berghe added that the demand for green energy has been on the rise and the government should partner with more investors in improving the lives of Kenyans.
Boxx Human resource manager Vincent Chege Macharia said the company has received massive acceptance from end-users given the solar market remains a large market for the company to deliver quality and affordable solar energy to the people.
He said that the Kenyan market is well oriented to meet the global standard of solar energy, adding that a lot of potential abounds in the country.
“Through affordable, reliable, and clean utility provision, Bboxx is bringing people into the digital economy, creating new markets, and enabling economic development in off-grid communities and those living without a reliable grid connection,” he said.
The company awarded Ronald Injiri Akolo during the ceremony as the best sales agent nationwide.
“I’m very happy today as I receive the award as the best sales agent nationally, Bbox products will not be available in every part of Vihiga County as I will traverse every homestead delivering to the customers,’ Akolo said.
