The body of a mutilated five-year-old has been found at the farm of the Siaya Governor Rasanga Amoth.
Area chief Felix Omudho said that the girl had been left at home when her mother took her younger sibling to the hospital at Segere in Siaya county.
“The mother found the five-year-old missing when she returned home,” the chief told a local radio station.
The body of the girl from the neighbouring Okoyo village was discovered last Friday evening at the farm.
This was a week after she went missing.
“We are also told that the minor reportedly followed the mother towards Segere and was spotted around Segere primary school on the day of her disappearance but since then, the family has been looking for her in vain,” the area chief said.
He added both the lower and upper limbs were missing.
Police have since taken the body to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem as investigations continue into the matter.
