The deep state will not impose leaders on Kenyans, Deputy President William Ruto has said.
The DP said Kenyans will elect leaders who are ready to serve them.
“The DP said Kenyans will elect leaders who have an agenda to transform their lives; leaders who are focused on social and economic progress and those who are ready to serve the people,” Ruto said.
The Deputy President was speaking when he toured Kachibora, Kesogon in Cherang’any constituency and Kwanza Centre in Kwanza Constituency, Trans-Nzoia County.
He added that Kenyans will elect leaders who are determined to change their lives and build a prosperous future.
“The era of imposing leaders on Kenyans for personal interests is over,” Ruto said.
The Deputy said that he has never promised anyone a wheelbarrow, arguing that it was only an UDA party symbol.
“I have never promised anyone that I will give Kenyans the wheelbarrow. This is a party symbol,” the DP said he said in an interview with Citizen TV.
The Dp also drummed up support for the bottom-up economic strategy saying that it will change the lives of many Kenyans.
“Shared our bottom-up agenda with wananchi,” Ruto said.
He was accompanied by MPs Janet Nangabo (Trans-Nzoia), Dan Wanyama (Webuye West), Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), John Waluke (Sirisia), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati), Robert Pukose (Endebess) and Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho).
Others were Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet), Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Caleb Kositany (Soy), Mwambu Mabonga (Bumula), Samuel Moroto (Kapenguria) and Bungoma Deputy Governor Charles Ngome.
