President Uhuru Kenyatta held private talks with the top leadership of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
The president met President Sahle-Work Zewde and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali in Addis Ababa on Sunday.
“His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday, in Addis Ababa, held private talks with the top leadership of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia led by President Sahle-Work Zewde and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali,” State house said on Sunday.
The talks follow one year fighting in the country between the federal government and the Tigray, which has left thousands dead, millions displaced and unknown number injured.
Uhuru’s visit comes after African Union (AU) envoy Olusegun Obasanjo held talks with the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the leadership of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) rebel group.
The United States special envoy Jeffrey Feltman also visited the country last week for talks.
