Ruto, Raila battle for Kamba votes

Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga camped in Ukambani to battle for the two million votes.
The duo held rallies in Kitui and Makueni counties to sell their manifesto to the locals who attended in tens of thousands.
The trip to Ukambani comes after Ruto held another successful tour in Nyanza, believed to be Raila’s stronghold.
“Wakati wa mtu wa vitenda wili umeisha. Watu hawakuli vitendawili, wanataka kazi na maisha mema{The time for Raila is over, they don’t want changes to the constitution but want good leadership and a better economy},” the DP said.
“Nilichelewa kukuja lakini sasa nimefika {I was late to come but I am here}.”

The DP was in Kitui and Makueni where he held five rallies in town such as Mutomo and Kanyangi among others.
He was accompanied by MPs Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Victor Munyaka (Machakos Township), former Kitui Rural MP Charles Nyamai and former deputy governors Jonathan Mueke (Nairobi) and Peninah Malonza (Kitui).
“Our unity as a nation will ensure that the Bottom-Up Economic Model we are proposing will bear fruits. We are on course to achieve that,” Ruto said.

The former prime minister Raila on his part was accompanied by governors Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Alfred Mutua (Machakos).
“I know where the money is being stolen and I will ensure I stop the stealing,” Raila said.
“I want to see unity, peace and equality in the country.”
Raila told the locals he was working with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka despite the former Vice President not attending.
“I talked to Kalonzo before I came here and send me to greet you,” Kalonzo said.
Ruto called on Kambas to vote wisely in the coming polls so that they secure their future.
