CS Amina Disbands FKF, Sends Nick Mwendwa, other federation officials Home

The state has disbanded the Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) following mismanagement of football activities in the country.
The Sports CS Amina Mohamed appointed a caretaker committee, which will run football affairs in the country for six months.
The 15 member committee will be headed by retired judge Aaron Ringera.
Amina disbanded the the Federation after she received an audit report from the Sports Registrar Rose Wasike.
The CS oOn October 14, 2021 directed the Registrar of Sports to undertake an inspection of Football Kenya Federation under Section 52 (1) of the Sports Act (2013) “following an extended deterioration of the state of football management in Kenya.”
The CS said that the Sports Act allows the ministry to intervene in the management of sports organisations where a sports organisation fails to adhere to proper corporate governance processes that include financial management.
“Over the past few years, the Football Kenya Federation has faced several governance issues that have been of great concern to the ministry,” she said.
