Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party.

The DP said Wiper does not have enough numbers of elected leaders to negotiate at the national level to empower Ukambani.

Ruto said his party UDA has 150 MPs compared to Wiper, which has 20 MPs, hence his party providers a stronger, platform for the region to have a say in future governments.

He added that the people in Ukambani should join a stronger party that will empower them to safeguard the interests of Ukambani.

“You cannot compare someone who already has 150 MPs in parliament with someone who has 20 members of parliament,” Ruto said in Kitui on Friday. The DP was fundraising in Kitui to empower women.

The DP told the residents that their relationship with former opposition leader Raila Odinga has failed to change their lives to access water, health and good infrastructure.

“Kitui will be in government if you join the bigger party {UDA}, and leave the small party {Wiper},” Ruto said.

The DP dismissed BBI arguing that Kenyans were suffering and required a better economy to change their lives.

He said creating positions in the constitution will not improve the lives of Kenyans.

“We are not interested in positions in the constitution but serving Kenyans. If you look around, people have lost jobs, and businesses have collapsed. We need solutions,” Ruto said.

The DP also defended the bottom-up economy model saying that it will uplift millions of people at the grassroots into serious entrepreneurs.

“The bottom-up economic model will change lives, and that’s why those who have been beneficiaries of the status quo which has victimized the poor masses are unhappy,” Ruto said.

The DP said that he will continue working with the masses to uplift society.

“I will continue working with traders, mama mboga, boda bod and other people to ensure they meet their ambitions,” Ruto said.
